I wanted to capture the separated silhouettes of the kids playing on the ice under the bridge. But I also wanted the texture of the ice to be felt, so I decided to blow out the background, beyond the bridge and in the daylight. Most of the time the kids were huddled up in one big mass, so it took a little patience to wait for them to separate out!
