It was late afternoon, just before the sun went down and I spotted this amazing sliver of light illuminating the wall. I was drawn to the way it highlighted the mustard-colored wall. I asked my son to stand in the light for a few minutes, and I kept moving around and asking him to adjust his position a bit so that I could get the light in a way that worked. I wanted to incorporate the mirror and his reflection, so I shot at 24mm. I also wanted to include the line of the door and the light in the other room.
