I haven't been photographing my own kids much in the past few months because I have been so occupied with client work, but the other morning, I saw this light in the stairway, just as my older son was about to walk down the stairs. I asked him to stand in a certain spot, framed by the lines of the window. I was so happy to capture the light and shadow, because this is the dramatic light that draws me the most and I feel that it's part of my style. I used my 24-70 lens shot at 24mm so that I could capture the scene with a lot of negative space.
