Lyra was raised on the coast of NC, where all of her extended family still resides. She has called Bismarck, ND home for the past eight years, where she loves to explore the wide open spaces of the prairie. Shooting her daily life with three kids (one is now an adult, which she finds to be very strange) and her incredibly supportive husband has become her most favorite thing to do. She is an intuitive storyteller who has a passion for finding the heart of a story. She believes that photography is a gift given to her in order to bring beauty into a hurting world. No matter how painful life becomes, there is always beauty to be found, and she is on a never ending quest to find it. She enjoys coffee, laughing, close friendships, great conversations, traveling, and exploring new places. Her name is pronounced like "lyr" in "lyrical", but if you mispronounce it, she won't hold it against you.
